How To Gift Items Via Marketplace Wish List

Reterik Resident Posted by in General - March 23, 2019, 2:08 am

Hello All, today I am writing this small help blog for people who want to purchase a gift for their friends or random people off of their marketplace wish lists. This will be explained in parts for reasons you'll figure out on your own.

Step One:

First, you'll need to have a friend know how to place items onto their marketplace wish list. This is a simple thing to find but I'll explain with a photograph.

As you possibly can see, I've highlighted the "Add to Wishlist" button for you to see. Anyone you want to buy a gift for using this method in this blog will be required to first have items chosen on the marketplace with this option chosen. Another person can have whatever they want in their wish lists, so don't be surprised if you see things of explicit nature because it is their personal list, I have not tested this method of buying without using all options search in marketplace, so you've been warned.

Step Two:

This second part is more just for you the purhcaser or gifter in this case. Want to find out what your friends or random people want on the marketplace? Simply post this URL: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/wishlists/yourfriendsnamehere (where yourfriendsnamehere you would enter your friend's username, for example, my personal wishlist link would look like so: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/wishlists/reterik )

After you have entered the URL, you are ready for step three!

Step Three:

Browse your friend's wish list to your heart's content. When you find an item you believe you would like to purchase for your friend you can simply click the orange "Add to Cart" button, at this point you can put in a personal message for your friend with the gift you are sending to them, you do not need to add their names to this way of purchasing as you are buying it exclusively off of their wish list, if you end up wanting it for yourself as well or instead, you can click the photo of the item or the link of the item instead and add it to your cart for yourself!

Step Four:

Last step guys and gals, now that you have your friend's gifts in your cart and whatever else you were shopping for as well, you can now go to your shopping cart and double check it for what you are sending, how much it'll cost, and to ensure you are sending the items to the right people (which you should be if you've bought off of the wish list). After this it's simply going to the cash out section and paying for your items and gifts. Your friend should get the items the next time they log in, along with any message you may have sent them included!

Side Note: Some people don't see notices from system purchases, but can see them from their email if they have it set up that way for receipts and such. If you don't hear from them, and you sent them a gift, send them a little nudge to see if they got it, as sometimes people don't see items entering into their received folders.

I hope this has been informative and helpful to you and your friends! Have a most excellent day!
