What's in it for me?

Why did I get ejected?

See I am a very busy person, running a sim with two main businesses, creating stuff, doing marketing, advertising and Djing. But as a land owner I do encounter with the same problem every day and because of lack of time I decided to stop explaining things to every and each Gold Hunters individually and just write it all down here.

So why did you get ejected? What it basically comes down to is greed and unfair game play. Now we all have a certain level of greed. I do too, it's part of human nature, but you have to stop for a second and think. You see all the gold hunters running around to get the coins, playing by the book, working and earning their pennies - they are just so awesome that when I have time I even help them out with other Linden making tips -, then here you pop in with your tricky speed tool, rocket fast vehicle, over writing flying restriction, coin to coin jumping and basically suppress the chances of the other players wanting ALL of the money for yourself. I'd say there is where I have to draw the line at greed. While I don't have time to watch every single player all the time, whenever I notice someone wanting to inhale all the coins at once, I click the red button. No warning. No explanation. Not anymore.

What's in it for me?

I think it's time to present the perspective of a land owner to all Gold Hunters to clarify a few things that why and what we landowners pay for?
ADS provides this genius service for us. The best way for you to understand this in relation between hunters and landowners is asking the question: "What's in it for me?", and "What's in it for them?"

It is clear for you all what's in it for you. You visit places and collect the coins to earn some money so you can buy some new shoes, hair, pay your rent, etc. It's a no brainer. You know what's in it for you. Have you though stopped and ask the question what's in it for the land owner? Why do I pay for the service, and ultimately you, thousands of Lindens every week (half of it is paid to ADS)? Because you are so nice? I'm sure you are. Because you are so pretty? Of course you are pretty. Because I have money to burn and instead of buying some upgrade for my computer I want to hand it to you? Eh... no. Because I hate money? I'm still sane, so nopes. I pay for the service to get you folks come to my place, perhaps shop around at the stores, vote on the station to get me a better rank, join my groups but more importantly to hang out there for a while.

Each coin requires you to remain on the land for a certain amount of time, and longer you stay is better for me to affect the land ratings in SL search. When you are hunting for the coins running, it's an accaptable time in both perspectives, and in my opinion you are earning your Lindens fair and I am more than happy to pay that to you. But when you fly around especially when it's restricted, or using all kind of tricks to suck up all the coins at once, you are not just being unfair to the other players but you also cut me short, because I am not paying you to absorb all the coins and take off. What's in it for me? Your time you spend on my land.

So what happens now?

You are welcome to Prim Entertainment Center either as a hunter or as a walk-in visitor, and I want you to enjoy the place. Hell you can even move in if you want. We have a public house for people to set home to change, or unbox things. But if I see your greedy side in any of the ways I described above I will push the button so someone else who would appreciate the opportunity of earning some money more, that I offer through this service would get their better chance.

So there it is. That was my penny. Feel free to comment and lash it at me. At this time I will take a few minutes to respond to all the questions or even have it on debate.

Happy hunting folks! :)

I like the prim center although I havent been for a  while I love the movie theater. But there are some who come and are way to greedy for their own good. I do take a few coins maybe 3 or four because thats all I feel I can handle plus im leaving some for the other folks. I do see the geedy ones all the time. the ones who stand over a coin waiting for time to run out. The ones who try to grab every coin they can. And it frustrates me. I am glad you eject them. I did post a blog with some tips for coin hunters. I hope that helps and makes the greedy ones less greedy. :) Happy hunting!

Ok - so this is a great post. Thank you Uzo. I have not been to your place so I'll have to check it out

I am one of those hunters who walks between coins. I stand and wait for the timer to run out before I move to the next one - I will take a coin that someone runs off and leaves, but only if they are not standing there or walking back to it (unless they have shown me by their actions they would take one of mine). I respect landowners for running these hunts. They don't have to pay us to be on their land. it's not a right - but a privilage. So, Thank you for funding the game, and hunters  - play fair or be banned. period.
