One of the things that I love most about the Gold Hunt game is that it gets me off of my own land and “out” into the virtual world. Yeah, I get to make money by scrambling around like a chicken with my head cut off, but I also get to see the creative brilliance of the minds that drive the best of Second Life.
Take, for example, the Alice in Wonderland themed sim in Eldritch. WOW! I teleported in expecting the usual, but man was I surprised at what I found! This sim is a beautifully crafted piece of cultural gold! You can get in any number of ways, and if you play Fish Hunt you may have hit their buoy up before without even realizing that you were smack dab in the middle of a piece of builder-mastery.
Of course, if you enter at the right spot you will get a heads up that weekends are excellent for Gold Hunters in this sim. Also, you will get to follow the rabbit down the rabbit hole, drink the shrinking potion to get through a very tiny door, and float through a cool and surreal chess scene. Once through you can admire the glowing terrain, ride the teacups, shop in the gothic furniture store, grab Gold Hunt coins, fish, and so on.
My personal favorite? The Mad Hatter’s own, personal den! That’s right. I discovered it while searching for coins on my second visit as a hunter. I won’t tell you where it is, that way you can have the fun of tracking it down yourself. I will give you a picture of the den, however. Something to wet the chops.
